Though illness and death are experienced daily by professionals, to each family it's an epic journey. These poems are from the point of view of a patient/relative, who wrote a collection chronicling her parents' exit from this world. The three daughters were all experienced: one is an RN working in palliative care, another was an RNA, and the author worked in long-term care while going to art school. Though they were swept up in their family story, the territory was not unfamiliar. Yet the nature of their Mom's stroke made their experience a surreal tumble down a rabbit-hole.
